Amaryllis Belladonnas
Blooms late
summer/early fall on naked stalks to 3' tall. Requires full sun, prefers
moisture through the winter growing season, needs to be kept dry through
the spring/early summer dormant season. Plant early summer, even with
the soil and about 8-12" apart (foliage gets wide like crinums). Hardy
to zone 6 (with mulch) and blooms in shades of light-pink through
rose-pink , reds and whites. If you have lots of rainfall (as we do here
in southeast texas) in the summer, then lift your bulbs, shake dirt off,
and store in a cool well ventilated place, then return them to their
beds at least by mid-August. They will then throw up their sturdy naked
stalks and reward you with a bouquet on a single stem!! Flowers have a
nice fragrance to boot!! Shipping date : late May through
late July
